Be careful what you ask for...

Entry from 'Disconnector' by Disconnector

EDF Energy last week sent out a heartwarming letter to its London customers in the pages of free paper The Metro. In it, chief executive Vincent de Rivaz confessed that the company had "fallen short of our high standards while we have been implementing new IT systems". Pledging it would be "back amongst the best by the end of the year", M de Rivaz then revealed that the company would be launching a "round-the-clock Live Webchat Customer Service" in June.

On considering the delights of what awaits an overnight utility chatline operator, Disconnector was impressed to see the gallant Gaul leading from the front and inviting the world to email him at vincentderivaz@edfenergy.com. "I would like to hear your feedback," he said. Risky, was the word that came to Disconnector's mind.
