Yule be warned

disco%20fat.jpg

This might make you gag over your festive roast, but that’s the point! Welsh Water says that Christmas Day could turn into a nightmare of blocked drains and toilets if its customers continue to insist on pouring food waste and grease into their sinks and drains. Such waste congeals and blocks waste pipes and public sewers. As our picture rather graphically shows, cooking a turkey can produce a Christmas-pudding-size lump of fat that could be very bad news for your drains. The water company points out: ”Pour that down the sink and it quickly cools and congeals – and then the trouble begins.” Quite.
