Last week Southern Electric joined forces with The Sun in a bid to help millions of people to become more energy efficient and reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas. Some
4.5 million energy-saving light bulbs were distributed free with the red top in more than 17,000 shops the length and breadth of Britain. Climate change campaigners Cool nrg were behind the initiative and also put the message across on Battersea power station, the iconic London landmark.
