The great man could not resist this one (though he accepts that journos are often numerically challenged and get their units wrong). The main BBC news website had an intriguing tale on its Scottish page on Monday 28 January.
It was about a row over a windfarm proposal in Aberdeenshire proposed by Cushnie Wind Energy, a joint venture between Falck Renewables and RDC Scotland. According to the web tale, the turbines would be “a blot on the landscape” and visible for miles around.
Disconnector was a bit puzzled about that, as the story referred to the turbines as being 4ft 10in tall. Oops.
The equipment will, in truth, be 125m high (or 410ft!). Oh, that elusive point…
