You gotta a lotta bottle

You would have had to have been living on the moon not to realise that the UK is going through some sort of Damascene conversion at present vis a vis bottled water.

Newspapers are running massive campaigns on the subject and extolling the virtues of our potable water supply. Celebrity chefs are queuing up to back moves to ensure diners have an alternative to ubiquitous bottled water.
Enter a new bottled water company called Iceni Waters using a spring water source in Duxford, Cambridgeshire. Now, who is behind said venture? Well, none other than Cheung Kong Infrastructure, the owner of Cambridge Water Company.
Although the bottled water company is being run separately from the water company, the two bodies share one key person. Martin Greasley is both the financial director of the bottled water company and the chief financial officer of Cambridge Water Company.
The great man (Disconnector, not Greasley) is at a loss for words. Has our Martin no shame?
Disconnector was also gob-smacked by the goings-on in Westminster last week when the All-Party Parliamentary Water Group held its two final oral sessions gathering evidence for its water sector review.
During the morning session, the powers that be failed to provide any water in jugs, while in the afternoon there was just one very small carafe of tap water available.
MPs and peers may say they think tap water should be on offer, but the reality last week was hardly encouraging. And doubly disappointing given the group involved.
