He left Severn Trent at the end of last year, three months before the water company’s appearance in court following a Serious Fraud Office investigation. Now he’s got a new post.
Mind you, it looks a little bit like leaping from a frying pan into a fire. Matthews is joining BAA as head honcho just as the question of expansion at Heathrow Airport reaches fever pitch. Clearly he likes a challenge and is not one to pursue the quiet life.
