Trail blazers: teams of walkers last weekend (7 June) made a bid to simultaneously conquer the summits of the UK's 100 most popular mountains to raise money for and awareness of charity WaterAid.
Of the 2,000 walkers taking part, around 100 were from the northeast, including two indomitable Northumberland Water employees Frank Bozic and Mike Rewcastle (pictured). They have already got to the top of 50 peaks travelling only by bike, on foot and using ferries.
