Historic documents, some dating back more than 500 years, have been found in a tin box in Longham, Dorset, in a property owned by Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water. The documents were found by Amanda Collins (right), shown here with the firm's managing director Tony Cooke and human resources adviser Helen Mead. One of the parchments is dated Michaelmas 1657 and includes the verdict of a court case where the defendants were found guilty of trespass and salmon poaching to the value of £110 from the River Avon. It is only speculation that the find includes an early version of a rising block tariff...
