Searching for a job
We’ve made searching and applying for jobs on Utility Week Jobs really easy.
Searching from the homepage
From the home page you can specify what you're looking for by location, keyword or job role. Once you've made your selections you just click the 'Search' button and your job results will appear in seconds.
Browse for jobs
If you’d prefer to browse by job role, click on the relevant link at the bottom of the Home Page. You can also refine your search by location or job type. To browse by Company, click on the relevant letter at the bottom of the page.
Job Results
This page lists all the job vacancies that matched your search criteria. They are listed in a column so you can see the following at a glance:
- The job title - click on it to view the job details
- The location of the job
- The salary
- The name of the recruiting company
- The industry sector the job is in
- The job role the job is advertised as
- The job type, i.e. permanent or contract
- The date the job was first published on the website
The following options are also available on the job results page:
New search. Click here if you want to search again.
Email me jobs like these. If you are happy with the job results returned from your search you can click this button to receive Jobs By Email. Your Jobs By Email alert will be sent direct to your inbox detailing similar jobs as soon as they are posted on Utility Week Jobs.
Save this search. If you are happy with the job results displayed then you may wish to save your search. Simply click on the ‘Save this search’ link, follow the prompts and your search criteria will be saved on your computer. You can run it anytime, by going to the Saved Searches button on the left of any page on the site. Remember: This feature will not work if you’ve declined cookies on your computer.
Page navigation. Use the arrows at the top or bottom of the page to go to the next job in your list of results, or back to the previous job.
Keywords. To start a new search for jobs with specific keywords, enter the required word/s in the box and click ‘Search’. All jobs matching the keyword/s will be returned.
Filter. You can filter your search results to just 'show' jobs posted by employers, by recruitment agencies or both.
Sort. To help you organise your search results in a way that's most useful, you can sort them by relevance or date.
Refine your search. If you want to refine your existing search rather than start a new one, click ‘Refine search'. This will take you back to the Home Page where you can change your search criteria.
Job Details and applying for a job
This page contains details and contact information about a particular job. The page also includes:
Email me jobs like this. Click this button to receive Jobs By Email. Your Jobs By Email alert will detail similar jobs as soon as they are posted on Utility Week Jobs.
Back to job results. Takes you back to your list of job results.
Start a new search. Takes you back to the home page where you can start a new job search.
Page navigation. Use the arrows top or bottom of the page to go to the next job in your list of results, or back to the previous job.
Apply now. When you find a job you are interested in you can click "APPLY NOW" to send an online application to the recruiter. Just make sure you have your CV and covering letter ready.
Send to a friend. If you come across a job you think a friend might be interested in you can click on this link. Then just type in your friend’s email address (and your own so they know who sent it), click 'submit' and a copy of the job details will be emailed to them. Don't worry, we won't use these email addresses for any other purpose.
