IPC confirms first projects of new regime

The Infrastructure Planning Commission has confirmed projects it will be assessing when the new regime comes into force in March.
In terms of nuclear power, Sir Michael Pitt's team will be looking at Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, Oldbury and Wyalfa. It has also confirmed six wind farm projects - all of which are onshore in Wales apart from Triton Knoll. The other five are Brechfa, Llanllwni, Nant-y-Moch, Dyfnant and Clocaenog.
The IPC will also assess RES New Ventures' proposal for biomass power in Blyth, and two waste combustion plant applications from Covanta.
Pitt also reiterated that the Conservatives, should they win the election, will "fundamentally let the IPC carry on" without major changes to its structure.
