French offshore company locates North Sea offshore HQ in Aberdeen![]() Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmomd has welcomed the decision of French energy engineering and construction company Technip to locate its North Sea offshore renewables head office in Aberdeen. News of the French firm's decision surfaced as Salmond held talks in Paris with leading French companies involved in renewable energy development. Salmond pointed out: "Scotland has around 60 gigawatts of potential renewable energy capacity - ten times our peak demand - and an offshore storage capacity for carbon emissions greater than the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany combined".
