Eon to cut gas prices by 6 per cent![]() Eon has announced plans to cut gas prices for 1.9 million customers by 6 per cent from the end of March. The company said customers paying by monthly Direct Debit will save on average £42 on their annual gas bills. Vulnerable customers, who take the WarmAssist product, had their tariff cut from 1 March. Graham Bartlett, managing director of Eon's retail business, said the company would also change bills to make them easier for customers to understand. He said: "We've been very aware of the effect of both the recession and the exceptionally cold winter on our customers, especially those most in need, so we are pleased to see the opportunity to now reduce prices. "In addition, our customers have been telling us that their bills need to be clearer, better laid out and easier to understand. We've listened, and our new bills have all the relevant information up front so our customers can see exactly how much energy they're using and hopefully where they can make savings." He claimed prices were now lower than those of British Gas. Source: Utility Week © Faversham House Group Ltd 2010. News articles may be copied or forwarded
