SSE Telecommunications acquires Atlas' fibre network Scottish and Southern Energy Telecommunications is to acquire Atlas Connect's fibre telecommunications network after an agreement was reached between the two firms. Atlas' network provides broadband to some 350 business premises across Scotland. The integration of the network takes SSET's fibre network past the 5,000km mark, with a further 2,600km in leased fibre. SSET said it wouldn't specify the deal's value other than being "millions of pounds", according to a spokeswoman.
