British Gas bolsters insulation business with acquisition British Gas has bolstered its new insulation business with the acquisition of Hillserve for £5 million. The company says the move will speed up the rollout of its insulation service. Demand for home insulation is set to rise significantly in the next five years. Currently, says British Gas, £1 in every £4 spent on domestic energy is wasted on poor insulation. The firm predicts spending on home insulation is expected to rise almost 250 per cent to £1.4 billion by 2015. Hillserve employs 159 people and serves the North West of England and Wales.
