Cameron claims central government will cut emissions 10 per cent in 12 months![]() Central government will cut carbon emissions by 10 per cent in 12 months, David Cameron has said. Government department headquarters will also publish real-time energy use in order to provide accountability. The government has not yet said how it will attempt to achieve the target. It will task the Department of Energy and Climate Change to oversee implementation of the cuts. While sceptics argue pro rata central government staff efficiencies could help achieve the 10 per cent target, the new government said it is going to make "fundamental changes" to Britain's energy use and supply. "When you mix blue with yellow, you get green," said the new Prime Minister. Source: Utility Week © Faversham House Group Ltd 2010. News articles may be copied or forwarded
