National Grid says performance on track, won't sell US business![]() National Grid has said it is on track to deliver expected operational and financial performance for the current year. The company's £3.2 billion rights issue was a success, according to chief executive Steve Holliday, despite the move prompting market speculation that National Grid could seek to sell its US business to fund dividends. Holliday added that its £3.9 billion capital investment programme remains on track. A National Grid spokesperson said the company is not looking to offload its US operations but admitted that its New Hampshire business, which represents about 2 per cent of US operations, could be sold off.
