LNG volatility is in the pipeline for Europe, analysts warn![]() European countries whose gas markets have become more exposed to liquified natural gas (LNG) in the past two years "will see more volatility and potentially increased prices", by 2015, according to Massimo Di Odoardo, principal analyst at Wood McKenzie. Di Odoardo told delegates at Ofgem's winter outlook seminar that "Europe has counted on LNG availability in the last few years", but said LNG cargoes would be drawn to higher priced markets in the Asia Pacific region. He said "LNG volumes are clearly at risk" suggesting European LNG import volumes were likely to fall by almost a third. Source: Utility Week © Faversham House Group Ltd 2011.
