Thames Water to consolidate support services in Reading![]() Thames Water has announced plans to bring its customer operations centre and operations management centre together in a new "central management hub" in Reading. Teams from eight core functions within operations will be located at the Operational Management Centre. These are: water, wastewater, field operations, capital delivery, supply chain, health & safety and environment, and strategic projects The company has taken a 25-year lease on a building in the Green Park office area. Staff will begin to move in to the building in the first quarter of 2010 and other functions will be moved there over the next two years. Steve Shine, Thames Water's chief operating officer, said: "By integrating a number of key functions in this way, we will be in a much better position to plan and coordinate our work, giving us the ability to respond to our customers faster and making us easier to deal with."
