Q&A: Claire Heywood, Denny Executive Resourcing

06 March 2009

Name
Claire Heywood

Age
39

Company
Denny Executive Resourcing

Job
Divisional utilities director

Career
Claire's career within the recruitment industry began with a generalist firm before she moved on to her current post with Denny Executive Resourcing. Prior to working in recruitment, she undertook
customer-focused roles including as a flight attendant for Gulf Air

What was your first ever job?
Showjumping groom.

What are the best and worst parts of your job?
I feel greatly rewarded when I receive updates from our clients that the people we have sourced are performing to a high standard. The worst part is that there never seem to be enough hours in the day.

What's your dream job and why?
If I had to leave recruitment, I'd quite like to work on safari in Africa, or be Prince Harry's PA.

What's your most treasured possession?
My daughter and my horses.

Where did you last go on holiday?
The Maldives.

In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you?
Charlize Theron - she's headstrong, has a good sense of humour and is incredibly versatile. Which other actress could go from being a sassy character in The Italian Job to a much feared serial killer in Monster?

Reveal something about yourself not many people know.
My father was a test pilot for Concorde.

What album is currently in your car CD player?
Paul Weller and The Verve.

What's your favourite film and TV programme?
I don't have a favourite but I love British films, as I prefer witty dialogue to car
chases. My favourite TV programmes, much to my daughter's annoyance, are Have I Got News For You, Top Gear and anything with James Nesbitt in.

What's your favourite joke?
Anything Paul Merton says.

What quote or saying do you most overuse?
"Preparation leads to success", which I often use when advising candidates for
potential opportunities.

If you ruled the world, what would you do first?
Top of my agenda would be to find a solution for all the fighting and famine in the world. Closely followed by banning reality TV shows.
